I came up with a small idea for a RP session or series thereof;
I typed it in a narrative of a news feed/broadcast... For your viewing pleasure:
The news feed starts off with a view of the female human anchor and her male cat-hybrid co-anchor, a picture of a world on fire pops into the upper right of the window, and the female begins speaking; "Tonight brings news from the Peoples Republic of Dabaury, formerally a number of planets previously stalwart members of the Confediration, they have been economically oppressed via back channels by their former companions after their separation.
During the civil war, unrest and unease was stirred amongst the peoples on planet Tor-43 and Saul-N7 by a number of local figureheads with significant political influence and separist designs. Winning in a few border skirmishes with the ConFed, the Dabaurians gained their indipendance, as Confederation military strength was used against more significant foes, and against more resource rich areas. The Dabaurian planets were devoid of most natural resources by now, consisting of several mining planets and foodstuff production sites."
The feed switches between views of fuel-refinery's and fields of crops. The story is picked up by the woman's co-anchor, who begins the next part with a slight purr; "An official Confederation statement was not released regarding alligations, and we could get no official comments from members of the ConFed, but inside sources say that while the Dabaurian fuels and other minerals they could provide are needed by outside sources, they have been bypassed by any and all major trade routes, and over the course of the last 10 years have been the target of many 'pirate raids' and suddenly a nest for many less than respectable persons."
The woman nods as pictures of small settlements flash onto the screen, the towns and citys razed to the ground. "The Dabaurian military is rather well trained, as former members of the ConFed military opted to separate with the Dabaurian's, and began training of their own system defense force. But without necessary ships and tech, the military's growth has been stunted, and is only 30% strength of what a normal system defense would be, the individual planarity defenses left to local militias and citizens."
The screen clears once more, and the camera pans back to the female human, "In other news, the Confederation's new program to terraform and colonize multiple planets near the outer ring of Con Fed space has been met with fanfare and considerable political backing. Multiple massive terraforming ships and colony vessels have been under construction with fervor as the population seems ready for another era of space pioneerism.............."
please comment and criticize at will, lets see some more RP ideas.. Anyone wanna be emplaced a-la sleeper cell on board and take it over? Pirate ship boarding anyone? Maby just a bomb on board for some ransom money?
A colony ship and / or terraforming vessel would be worth quite a large amount, and would be sought after by many parties.
This is a -rough- basic outline. Names of the parties involved could be changed around, and other adjustments made, so let's hear what ya got:
